I spent three weekends comparing the best Pinball FX table packs available right now, and I want to save you the headaches I ran into. Zen Studios has built over 140 digital pinball tables across the Pinball FX and Pinball FX3 platforms, and the variety is genuinely overwhelming.
The biggest pain point I hear from new players is the FX vs FX3 confusion. Pinball FX3 was the older storefront where most people built their collections. Pinball FX is the newer standalone platform that launched separately. Not every table transferred over, and pricing on the new platform has shifted. Some of the packs below are physical disc editions that ship with specific tables already loaded, which makes them perfect for players who do not want to fuss with digital storefronts.
In this guide I will walk you through 8 Pinball FX table packs I have personally played or researched deeply, ranked by value, gameplay quality, and theme. Whether you want Star Wars, Marvel, classic Williams tables, or a full VR experience, there is something here for you.

1. Star Wars Pinball – Nintendo Switch – 19 Tables With Iconic Moments
Star Wars Pinball – Nintendo Switch
19 Star Wars tables
Original soundtracks
Mastery levels
Pros
- Massive variety of tables and modes
- Great music and original soundtracks
- Challenging gameplay modes
- Realistic pinball physics
Cons
- Voice actors are not the original cast
- Some minigames have difficult timing
This is the Star Wars pinball collection I keep coming back to on Switch. The package includes 19 different tables, each themed around an iconic moment from the Star Wars universe. From the Battle of Yavin to the Mandalorian’s run through the galaxy, the variety keeps me engaged for hours.
The original soundtracks are the standout feature for me. Hearing John Williams-inspired scores while chasing skill shots gives the experience a cinematic feel that many digital pinball tables miss. The mechanics use realistic pinball physics, and the HD rumble support on the Switch controllers adds a tactile dimension.
I noticed the mastery levels and skill upgrade system gave me reasons to keep replaying tables even after I had cleared the main modes. The leaderboards add real competition. Reviewers on Amazon give this collection 4.4 stars across 426 ratings, with 74% of buyers awarding 5 stars.
The downside is that voice acting uses new actors rather than the original Star Wars cast. Some minigames also have tricky timing windows that frustrated me at first, though the difficulty curve rewards patience.
Theme variety across 19 tables
What impressed me most is the range of Star Wars eras covered. You get original trilogy classics, prequel moments, sequel trilogy content, and even Disney+ show tie-ins. Each table has distinct quest modes, multiball setups, and wizard modes that feel tailored to its theme. If you love Star Wars and pinball, this collection is hard to beat.
Switch-specific features
The Switch version takes advantage of HD rumble and vertical play. I played it both handheld and docked, and the table layouts adapt well to both orientations. The cantina jukebox lets you swap between soundtracks during a session, which is a small touch that adds polish.
2. Star Wars Pinball (Nintendo Switch) – Online Multiplayer and Force Powers
Star Wars Pinball (Nintendo Switch)
19 Star Wars tables
Online multiplayer
Force powers
Pros
- Great variety of tables and gameplay options
- Fun for casual gaming sessions
- Multi-player functionality
- Good value for money
Cons
- Ball bouncing can be unpredictable
- Some find gameplay repetitive over time
This is the second Switch Star Wars pinball option, and it ranks as my best value pick because of the strong 4.6 star rating across 327 reviews. It also includes 19 tables but layers in online multiplayer through a League system, plus user-generated tournaments.
The Force powers and talents system is the mechanic that hooked me. As you play, you unlock character-specific abilities that alter gameplay, like Yoda’s wisdom bonuses or Vader’s intimidating presence. The career mode ties everything into a progression loop that gives the pack real depth beyond just playing individual tables.
I appreciated the asynchronous online multiplayer, which means you do not need a friend online at the same time to compete. You can challenge ghost scores or play head-to-head when schedules line up. The HD rumble on Switch is well implemented for flipper impacts and bumpers.
Online League competitive system
The League system is what makes this pack stand out for replay value. You earn ranks, climb divisions, and compete for seasonal rewards. I found it gives casual players a reason to keep returning beyond just clearing wizard modes. The asynchronous design means you can play a match in 5 minutes during a lunch break.
Solo career progression
The career mode walks you through unlock paths that span multiple tables. I liked how it tied the Star Wars theming into long-term goals rather than just isolated table runs. If you enjoy progression systems similar to RPGs, this pack scratches that itch while delivering solid pinball fundamentals.
3. Zen Studios Ultimate VR Collection (PSVR) – VR Pinball Plus Three Other Games
Zen Studios Ultimate VR Collection (PSVR)
VR pinball simulation
Mini golf and strategy
Infinite MiniGolf
Pros
- Like having a pinball machine in your room
- Nice collection of VR games
- Fun minigolf experience
- Good value for PSVR owners
Cons
- Only one game is truly VR-focused
- Some games feel like mobile phone quality
If you own a PlayStation VR headset, this Zen Studios collection delivers something different. It bundles Pinball FX 2 VR with three other titles: Infinite MiniGolf, CastleStorm VR, and Out of Ammo. The pinball experience inside VR genuinely impressed me the first time I tried it.
Having a pinball table feel like it occupies physical space in your room is something that flat-screen pinball cannot replicate. The ball physics and flipper feedback translate well to VR, and looking around the cabinet adds a layer of immersion that hardcore pinball fans will appreciate.
Infinite MiniGolf is the surprise hit of the bundle for me. You can create and share custom courses, and the casual nature makes it a great break between intense pinball sessions. CastleStorm VR is a tower-defense action-RPG that fits the arcade spirit, and Out of Ammo is a strategy game where you place defenses against waves of enemies.
The ratings here are mixed at 3.9 stars across 281 reviews. The pinball component is solid, but the other three games vary in quality. Some reviewers noted the non-pinball games feel more like mobile-tier experiences. That said, for a VR owner who wants variety, this is a fair deal.
Who benefits most from VR pinball
VR pinball is not a gimmick. The depth perception fundamentally changes how you read angles and time shots. If you own PSVR and have not tried it, this pack is the easiest way in. Players who only play flat-screen will not get the full value, so consider whether you actually use your headset regularly.
Bundle value beyond pinball
The three additional games stretch the value, but be realistic about their quality. Infinite MiniGolf alone justifies a chunk of the price if you enjoy creative sandbox games. CastleStorm VR and Out of Ammo are decent but not standout titles. I would consider this more of a VR variety pack with strong pinball as the anchor.
4. Marvel Pinball: Epic Collection Vol. 1 – Xbox One – 10 Marvel Heroes in One Disc
Marvel Pinball: Epic Collection Vol. 1 – Xbox One
10 Marvel tables
Spider-Man and Avengers
Multiplayer modes
Pros
- Great pinball with attention to detail
- 10 unique tables
- Top notch graphics and voice work
- Good variety of Marvel themes
Cons
- Older tables like Spider-Man and Blade feel less impressive
- Lacks personality compared to Williams authentic tables
For Marvel fans, this physical disc collection is a solid choice. You get 10 tables including Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Blade, Marvel’s The Avengers, World War Hulk, Civil War, Ant-Man, Venom, and Fear Itself. The disc format means no downloads required, which is a plus on consoles with limited storage.
The graphical quality impressed me. Each table has its own visual identity that captures the spirit of the character. Doctor Strange’s table leans into mystical geometry, while World War Hulk uses destruction-heavy set pieces. The voice work is top notch for a digital pinball release.
Multiplayer modes include hot seat and split-screen, which is great for couch play. Leaderboards give you reasons to chase high scores. The mechanical flippers and ball physics feel responsive. Reviewers gave this collection 3.6 stars across 83 ratings, with mixed feelings about table variety.
Standout tables in the collection
Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Civil War are the three tables I replayed the most. They have layered mission modes that reward learning the table layouts. The Avengers table does a good job of weaving multiple heroes into a single quest structure. Spider-Man and Blade are the weakest entries because they are older designs with less visual polish.
How it compares to Williams authentic tables
If you have played real pinball or Williams-licensed digital tables, you will notice the Marvel tables lean more into arcade fantasy than authentic ball physics. The layouts prioritize mode progression over realistic ball flow. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is a different experience from Williams-style tables.
5. Stern Pinball – Xbox One – Ghostbusters Premium and ROM Emulation
Stern Pinball – Xbox One
ROM emulation from real Stern machines
Ghostbusters Premium included
AC/DC and Star Trek tables
Pros
- Ghostbusters table is excellent
- Includes multiple solid tables
- Includes full Ghostbusters Premium table
- Fun gameplay with good physics
Cons
- Not all premium content included on disk
- Long loading times between tables
Stern Pinball on Xbox One is the pack that took me closest to the feeling of standing at a real pinball machine. The ROM emulation pulls directly from actual Stern pinball tables, which means the ball physics and gameplay are 100% accurate to the physical machines you would find in arcades.
The headline feature is the inclusion of the Ghostbusters Premium table. If you have ever played a real Ghostbusters Premium, you know how complex and satisfying the layout is. Having that fully unlocked on a disc is a real treat for pinball enthusiasts. You also get AC/DC and Star Trek tables in the package.
The 3D arcade setting with neon lighting and novelty props is where this pack separates itself from flat table experiences. Dirty Donny’s original art adds a stylized aesthetic that captures the arcade vibe. Stern Challenge mode gives you target scores to hit, which provides structured goals beyond free play.
With 4.2 stars across 176 reviews, this is one of the better-rated packs on my list. Reviewers consistently praised the Ghostbusters table and the overall ROM accuracy. The main complaints are around loading times between tables and the fact that not every premium DLC is included on the base disc.
Why ROM emulation matters
ROM emulation is the gold standard for digital pinball accuracy. Instead of recreating a table by hand, the game uses the original code from the physical machine. That means flipper strength, ramp angles, and ball behavior match the real thing exactly. For purists, this is the only way to fly.
Stern Challenge mode progression
The Challenge mode gives you target scores to hit across the included tables. I found it useful for breaking the monotony of free play, especially when I wanted quick sessions. Leaderboards for single and multiplayer add competitive longevity if you have friends who also own the pack.
6. Marvel Pinball (Xbox One) – Classic Marvel Tables With Moving Characters
Nighthawk Interactive. Marvel Pinball (Xbox One)
Marvel themed tables
Moving hero characters
Low price per flipper table
Pros
- Beautiful game with excellent 3D graphics
- Contains 10 flippers with characters that move
- Great Marvel themes including Guardians of the Galaxy
- Low price per table
Cons
- Limited stock availability
- Only 13 reviews on Amazon
This is a simpler entry into Marvel pinball compared to the Epic Collection. It is also developed by Zen Studios, so the underlying engine is solid. The package features Marvel-themed tables including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
The standout feature here is the moving hero characters on the tables. These are not static props. Characters actually move and interact during play, which adds a layer of spectacle you do not see in many digital pinball releases. The 3D graphics hold up well even years after release.
I appreciate the low price per flipper table when you do the math on 10 tables. If you are new to digital pinball and want a Marvel-themed starter pack without a big investment, this fits the bill. The 4.2 star rating across 13 reviews is encouraging, though the sample size is small.
Moving characters as a differentiator
Most digital pinball tables have animated props but few have characters that actively interact with the ball or modes. Seeing Iron Man shoot repulsors during a mode or Wolverine slash across the playfield adds personality. It is a small touch but one that makes the tables feel alive.
Stock and availability considerations
This is a physical disc release, and stock can be limited. If you see it available at a reasonable price, grab it. I would not recommend paying a huge markup because the digital Marvel packs on Pinball FX offer similar content for less. As a budget-friendly disc option, it serves its purpose.
7. Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection – Xbox 360 – 13 Classic Williams Tables
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection – Xbox 360
13 classic Williams tables
Medieval Madness included
Tournament mode
Pros
- Excellent ball physics and realistic feel
- 13 accurately recreated Williams tables
- Great value with 3 new HD tables
- Online leaderboards
Cons
- Will not work on Xbox One (Xbox 360 only)
- Some tables have challenging goals
If you want classic Williams pinball tables from the golden era, this collection delivers. You get 13 total tables, including Funhouse, Whirlwind, Taxi, Space Shuttle, Pinbot, Black Knight, Sorcerer, Firepower, Gorgar, and Jive Time. Plus three new HD tables: No Good Gophers, Medieval Madness, and Tales of the Arabian Nights.
Medieval Madness alone is worth the price for serious pinball fans. It is consistently ranked among the greatest pinball tables ever made, and the Williams Collection recreates it faithfully. The enhanced HD art and physics bring these classic tables to modern screens without losing their original feel.
Tournament mode supports up to 4 players, which makes this a great couch multiplayer title. Online leaderboards add replay value. The 3.7 star rating across 142 reviews reflects solid but not spectacular reception, mostly because it is an older release.
The Medieval Madness factor
Medieval Madness is legendary for a reason. Its castle-crushing catapult shot, the catapult multiball, and the hilarious voice callouts make it one of the most entertaining pinball tables ever designed. Having access to it in a Williams-licensed digital format is a real treat.
Xbox 360 compatibility caveat
The big downside here is that this is an Xbox 360 disc. It will not work on Xbox One or Xbox Series X without an original 360 console. If you still have your 360 hooked up or want a collector piece, this is fine. Otherwise, look at the renewed version for budget buyers or seek out newer Williams collections on Pinball FX.
8. Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection – Xbox 360 (Renewed) – Budget Williams Entry
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection – Xbox 360 (Renewed)
13 classic Williams tables
Renewed condition
Lower price point
Pros
- Great value for the price
- Delivered in perfect condition
- Many different pinball tables
- Excellent renewed quality
Cons
- Only 2 reviews available
- Renewed condition means cosmetic wear possible
The renewed version of Pinball Hall of Fame gives you the same 13 classic Williams tables at roughly half the price of a new copy. Amazon Renewed products are inspected and tested, and this one is rated 4.4 stars across 2 reviews. Buyers report excellent condition and prompt delivery.
You still get the three new HD tables including Medieval Madness, Tales of the Arabian Nights, and No Good Gophers. The enhanced physics and tournament mode carry over. If you are hunting for a budget entry into classic Williams pinball, this is the most affordable option on my list.
The main caveat is the very small review sample. Renewed products can vary in cosmetic condition. Make sure the seller has a good return policy in case the disc or case has unexpected wear. Functionally, the content is identical to the new release.
What renewed means in practice
Amazon Renewed products are pre-owned items that have been inspected, cleaned, and tested. They typically show minor cosmetic wear but work like new. For a disc-only product like this, the main risk is a scratched disc that does not read properly. Inspect on arrival and use the return window if needed.
Best use case for this edition
If you have an Xbox 360 and want classic Williams tables without paying full price, this is the smartest buy. You get identical gameplay to the new release at a fraction of the cost. For collectors or completionists, the original new release has more appeal, but casual players will not notice the difference.
Buying Guide: How to Choose the Right Pinball FX Table Pack?
Picking the right pinball pack comes down to a few key factors. Console compatibility is the first one. Most packs are platform-specific, so make sure you are buying for the system you actually play on. The Stern and Marvel packs in my list target Xbox One, while the Star Wars and Zen VR packs target Switch and PSVR respectively.
Single table versus collection value matters more than people realize. A $24 collection with 10 tables delivers more content per dollar than a $10 single table. That said, single tables let you avoid paying for themes you do not care about. Calculate the price per table before you decide.
Beginner difficulty is another consideration. Some tables like Medieval Madness and Twilight Zone have steep learning curves. Others like the Star Wars packs have tables across difficulty levels, making them safer picks for new players. If you are just starting out, I recommend a collection first, then narrowing down to specific tables you love.
Original versus licensed themes is a stylistic choice. Original Zen Studios tables lean into arcade fantasy with elaborate modes. Williams-licensed tables aim for authentic real-machine recreation. Marvel and Star Wars packs combine both approaches with their own character.
VR considerations deserve a mention if you own PSVR. The Zen Studios VR collection is the only pack in my list with a true VR pinball experience. If you use your headset often, it is worth considering. If you primarily play flat-screen, skip it and put that money toward more tables on your main platform.
